Malcolm "Malmal" William O'Connell, age 80, of Savannah passed away Sunday, July 31, 2022.
Mr. O'Connell was born on January 14, 1942 in Savannah to the late Patrick Jerome O'Connell and the late Ruby Rosalee Wilcox O'Connell. He is a veteran of the United States Coast Guard, retiring after 28 years of service. In addition, Mr. O'Connell was the proud owner and operator of O'Connell's Pub on Drayton Street.
Survivors include sons, Dan O'Connell and Whitney Walker; daughters, Brittany O'Connell-Dunn and Michelle O'Connell; brothers, Bernie, Billy, and Jerry; grandchildren, Ashley, Alyssa, Russell, Jessica, Isaiah, Katelyn, Courtney, and Riley; and six great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 from 10:00 until 11:00 am at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hodgson Memorial Chapel (7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive Savannah, GA 31406).
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at 11:00 am at Baker McCullough Funeral home, Hodgson Memorial Chapel (7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive Savannah , GA 31406).
Remembrances may be made to Compassus Hospice (107 Southern Blvd Suite 203 Savannah, GA 31405).
A reception to celebrate Mr. O'Connell's life will follow at O'Connell's Pub (42 Drayton St. Savannah, GA 31401).
