Mae Louise White

November 27, 1930 — April 2, 2024

Mae Louise Ulmer White went to be with the Lord, her Savior, on Tuesday April 2, 2024. Louise was born on November 27, 1930 to the Reverend Vernon M. And Bertha Hinely Ulmer in Savannah Ga.

Louise was a member of South Newington Baptist Church where her father served as Pastor in the early 1960’s and in her younger years she loved to work with the youngsters in Sunday School there.

Many knew her for her fun-loving personality and attitude of great fullness. She had a way of making people feel special and always gave sound advice.

For years, she and her husband, Gene, were members of the National Campers and Hikers Association where they enjoyed amazing trips and made wonderful memories and friendships. She loved to travel or spend days at a time at their river place in Pierce county where they enjoyed fish fry’s and gatherings with family and friends.

Louise will be remembered for her love of family, and although she and Gene never had children of their own, they dearly loved their 22 nieces and nephews.

Louise would load up their pick up or their VW Camper Van and take off to the beach, VBS, summer camp or another fun camping trip! Sleepovers of the children were frequent and many of them stayed for long periods of time as she loved to be a part of their lives with love and sound guidance, when she could help.

Those left to cherish her memory include her Sister-in-laws, Christine Ulmer, Mary (Kay) Ulmer and Gail White. Also 21 nieces and nephews that were like her own, and several precious great and great, great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 72 years Eugene David White her parents, her brothers Vernon Marion Ulmer and Larry Alvin Ulmer. Also, her sisters Doris Ulmer, Avis Lanier, Kathleen Purvis along with her nephew, Joseph Ronald "Ronnie" White and two brother in laws, Joseph "Joe" and Robert "Bobby" White.
