Madelyn Lariscy Atkins, age 65 of Brunswick and formerly of Savannah, died Monday, April 25, 2011 at Hospice House surrounded by her family.
Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, April 29, 2011 at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastor Peter J. Hartman officiating. Interment will be private.
Madelyn was born March 31, 1946, in Savannah to the late Rodney Elton Lariscy, Sr. and Annie Lucille Kicklighter Lariscy, who survives. She was a school teacher having taught several years at St. Paul's School, twenty years of service with the Chatham County Board of Education, seven years and retired from the Glynn County Board of Education in Brunswick. She was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church. She and her loving husband celebrated their forty second wedding anniversary in November of last year.
Survivors in addition to her mother, are her husband, Loy Atkins of Brunswick and a daughter, Emily Caron Atkins of Savannah and a son and daughter in law, Scott Christopher Atkins and wife Meredith of Louisville, KY, one grandchild, Miles Atkins of Louisville, KY, and a brother, Rodney Elton Lariscy, Jr. of Savannah.
The family will be receiving friends on Thursday evening, April 28, 2011 from 7:00 pm till 9:00 pm at Bonaventure Funeral Home. Please visit out Tribute Wall to share your thoughts and photos with the Madelyn Lariscy Atkins family.
