Lure "Lou" Barnard

Lure Elizabeth "Lou" Barnard, age 85, of Thunderbolt, passed away Tuesday, October 21st, 2014 at Tara at Thunderbolt Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
A native of Bulloch County, she was the daughter of Bertha and Perry NeSmith and has been a resident of Thunderbolt since 1952. Lou was a Sunday School teacher and dedicated member of the Thunderbolt Baptist Church and later the Coastal Cathedral. She was an outgoing, loving, and kind person who "never met a stranger."
Preceded in death by her parents, her husband Hubert Barnard, Sr., a son Hubert Barnard, Jr. and her sister Rita Shinall, she is survived by two sons, Rodney Barnard (Susan) of Shellman Bluff and Mark Barnard of Thunderbolt; grandchildren, Joyce Williams, Mandy Schmole, Cassie Archer, & Hubert Barnard, III; her brother Linton NeSmith of Jacksonville, Florida; six great-grandchildren and several nieces & nephews.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 26th from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Bonaventure Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Monday, October 27th, at 11:00 AM in the Funeral Home Chapel, with interment to follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
