Lourdes G Baines

Lourdes Guillan Baines, 90, of Savannah, GA., passed away peacefully March 2, 2023 at the Oaks at Pooler.

She was born February 6, 1933 in Santiago, Cuba.

Mrs. Baines met the love of her life, Charles Wendell Baines, Sr., while he was stationed at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, serving in the United States Navy. The two were married soon after and moved to the States to start their family.

She was a homemaker who lovingly cared for her family every day of her life. She had a tremendous love for her husband, children and later her grandchildren. She was a wonderful grandmother.

Mrs. Baines was a loyal communicant of St. Ann Catholic Church in Richmond Hill, attending services regularly until illness prevented her from doing so. She had a great love for her church family and playing Bingo.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Baines, Sr.; and a daughter, Brenda Charlene Baines.

Surviving are a son, Charles Wendell Baines, Jr. (Katie); a daughter, Lisa Rudolph; grandchildren, Candice Lynn Crosby and Ryan Wendell Baines; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Monday March 6, 2023 from 5-7PM with a Rosary Service to be held at 6PM in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday March 7, 2023 at Noon at St. Ann Catholic Church with Father Dawid Kwiatkowski officiating. Burial will follow at the Catholic Cemetery in Savannah.
