Louise L. Carter, age 84, of Savannah passed away Friday, December 23, 2022 under the care of Hospice Savannah.
Mrs. Carter, a native of Savannah was born on February 12, 1938, the daughter of the late Leon Arthur Lanier and Thelma Wilson Lanier. She was a 1957 graduate of Savannah High School and after graduating began her career with Southern Bell. She ultimately retired after 40 years of service working in management with operations services of AT&T. Following retirement she worked with her family business, Spanish Moss Printing. Louise was a longtime member of Bull Street Baptist Church and Chapel by the Sea Baptist Church and was also a member of the AT&T Pioneers. She enjoyed playing golf, watching football, and spending time with her family, especially her grandson.
Mrs. Carter was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Alvin B. Carter, Jr. She is survived by her sons, Mark and Phillip; grandson Zachary Carter; and many cousins, nephews and nieces.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hodgson Memorial Chapel, 7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah, GA 31406. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service.
