Louise Dowell Grady, age 87 died, Monday, October 11, 2010 at Hospice Savannah with her family at her side.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, October 14, 2010 at St. Michaels Catholic Church with Father Tom Peyton, Celebrant officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery with Steve Norman, Chip Wilkes, David Grady, Matthew Phillips, Jack Chestnut and Michael Chestnut serving as casket bearers.
Louise was born in Jacksonville, Florida on May 22, 1923 to Jemima Paul and Frank Laird Dowell. She was a loving Mother, raising her children in a loving home, homemaker and member of St. Michaels Catholic Church. She resided on Tybee Island most of her adult life. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Joseph Grady, Sr., her parents, one sister and one brother.
Survivors include her wonderful children, Pat G. Norman, John Grady, Jr. (Peggy), Savannah, Jane G. Wilkes (Garry) of Springfield, Mary G. Lindqvist( Gunnar), Ann "Tootie" G. Phillips (Denny) all of Savannah, 11 Grandchildren and 10 Great-Grandchildren, one brother, Frank Dowell (Mazie) of Florida.
Memorials may be made to St. Michaels Catholic Church, 802 Lovell Ave. Tybee Island, GA 31328-9513 or to Hospice Savannah, P.O. Box 13190, Savannah, GA 31416.
The family will be receiving friends Wednesday, October 13, 2010 from 5:00 till 7:00, with a Wake service at 6:00 PM. Please share your thoughts and memories with the Grady family by signing our Tribute Wall.
