Louisa Marin Cribbs Joyner
Louisa Joyner passed away on February 6, 2018 at Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Born on September 14, 1932 in Glenn, California, she was the daughter of John and Sally (Garcia) Marin, who immigrated to the U. S. from Spain. Louisa is survived by her children, Elaine Nelson (Scott), Cynthia Webb (Ezra) and Gary Cribbs (Terri); grandchildren Susan Nelson, Kristina St.Clair (Christopher), Shawn Schmitt, Chad Morris, Angel Williams, Dustin Davis (Sonia), Amber Davis, and Dain Davis; great-grandchildren Hannah, Jayla, Hadley, Jayanna, Bradley, Shae and Mae Rose. She is pre-deceased by her son, John Cribbs, sister, Delores Butler, and first husband William Cribbs. She was the widow of Calvin Joyner. She was a member of Coastal Cathedral Church of God.
Louisa spent her childhood in Loomis, California, on her family's vineyard. She graduated from Roseville High School. She married William "Bill" Cribbs and together they traveled all over the U.S. as a military family. She later married Calvin Joyner, and they owned and operated a trucking company in Garden City. Louisa was an avid University of Georgia Bulldawg fan and her greatest joy was spending time with her family and she was affectionately known as "Grandma Weegie."
Funeral services will be held at Baker McCullough Funeral Home-Garden City Chapel, 2794 Highway 80, Garden City. Visitation will be Thursday, February 8 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and the funeral will be on Friday, February 9 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be at Hillcrest Abbey West immediately following the funeral service.
