Dr. Louis Roger Robinson was born in San Fernando, Trinidad and Tobago, on October 10, 1957 to the late Allen Joseph Robinson and the late Beryl John Robinson. He was the sixth child of eight children. Louis departed this life on September 1, 2021 after succumbing to Colorectal cancer at the home of his sister, Dr. T. Joan Robinson’s, in Pooler, Georgia where he resided since 2018.
Louis was educated at Saint Benedict College in Trinidad and the University of the District of Columbia in Washington, DC, where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry. He later earned a Master of Science Degree and a Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Chemistry at Howard University, Washington, DC.
Louis had a very distinguished career. He worked as a Senior Chemist at the Flavor Research and Trace Organic Analysis Group at Nabisco, Inc., East Hanover, NJ.; as a Research Specialist at the Institute of Human Virology, Baltimore, Maryland; and as a Research Associate at Children’s National Medical Center, Washington, DC.
He was also an educator who dedicated much of his time, energy, and wealth of knowledge to the academic community for students of all races in New Jersey as an Adjunct Professor of Chemistry at Kean University, Farleigh Dickinson University, Essex County College and several other colleges in New Jersey. He also served as an Adjunct Professor in the Natural Science Department at Savannah Technical College, Savannah, Georgia.
Louis was highly committed to his faith and his family. He loved sports, looking at Western movies, and at times, cooking. He also assisted in coaching his friends and his sons’friends in track and field. He was loved by many in the congregation at Corpus Christi Catholic Church.
He leaves to cherish his memory: His twin sons, Jalon and Nahshon Robinson (23 years) of Baltimore, Maryland; daughter, Lola Robinson (13 years) and wife of 24 years, Jennifer Jones. Three sisters: Bernadette Roberts (Kelvin) of Sugarland, Texas; Theresa Cornwall (deceased husband, James) of Venice, Florida; and Dr. T. Joan Robinson of Pooler, Georgia. His mother-in-law, Lola Jones (deceased father-in-law, Sulkous Lee) and his sister-in-law, Sonya Jones (Dwight Williams). Four brothers: Anthony A. Robinson (Magnell) of Waterloo, Ontario; Robert R. Robinson (Coreen) of Port-of-Spain, Trinidad and Tobago; Christian Robinson (Ruthie) of Greensboro, NC.; and Michael T. Robinson (Monica) of Baltimore, MD. Eight nieces: Patrice Robinson, Ottawa, Canada; Saran Roberts Harris, Baltimore, MD; Zola Roberts, Sugarland, Texas; Abena Robinson and Malene Robinson of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; Nicole DeSilva (Joel) of Trinidad and Tobago;Kayla Williams of Baltimore, Maryland; and Shanetta Phillips Warner (Allen) of Upper Marlboro, Maryland. Four nephews: Patrick Roberts, Sugarland, Texas; Joshua Robinson (Michelle) of Crofton, Maryland; Dr. Allen A. Robinson (Mary);and David Cornwall (Michelle) of Venice, Florida. Twelve grand nieces and nephews. A host of cousins, other relatives and friends.

The visitation will be 1:00 - 2:00 pm Friday September 10, 2021 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church Pooler, Georgia with the Funeral Service to follow at 2:00 pm.
