Lois Lillian Gano Leaich, 96, of Savannah, Georgia, passed away at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born March 3, 1925 in Mascotte, Florida to the late Charlie and Ruby Merritt Gano. She was raised in Florida and met the love of her life, Glendale Francis Leaich, in Orlando and the two were married December 22, 1943. They moved to Savannah from Jacksonville Beach in 1963 with their children. They attended Southside Baptist Church.
Mrs. Leaich was a homemaker and a loving mother to her children. She was a fan of Elvis and Debbie Reynolds. She enjoyed square dancing, gardening, especially daylilies, traveling to the Smokey Mountains and camping. She collected seashells while walking on the beach, one of her favorite places, and also had an extensive doll collection.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Glendale Francis Leaich; a brother, Phillip Charles Gano, and a sister, Barbarah Pancratz.
Surviving are three daughters, Laurie Foudin (Arnold) of Olney, MD, Mickey R. Hill of Richmond Hill, GA, and Marilyn Hill (Michael) of Savannah, GA; grandchildren, Holly Poplin (Jeremy), Sonia Hill, Kasey Clark (Monte); great grandchildren, Tyra and Tebow Clark; and sister-in-law Ann Gano of Chattanooga, TN.
Visitation will be held Sunday May 23,2021 4-6PM at Baker McCullough Funeral Home Hubert C. Baker Chapel. Funeral Service will be held at Noon Monday May 24, 2021 in the mausoleum chapel at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens with Rev. Jeremy Poplin officiating.
