Linda Roy Hollingsworth Schrum, age 75, of Savannah, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, April 4th, 2024.
She was born in Savannah on June 12th, 1948 to the late Abra Joseph Roy and Christine Vandiver Roy.
Linda was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Linda dedicated 25 years of her career as a Business Program Specialist for the US Army Corps of Engineers before retiring. She was a member of Pooler First Baptist Church where she served as the Past Director of the Children's Ministry, sang in the Choir, taught Sunday School, and volunteered on the Nursing Home Ministry. Her dedication and love for children shone through in all that she did.
In her spare time, Linda enjoyed reading, playing board games, putting together puzzles and watching Hallmark movies. She had a kind and caring heart and always put others before herself. Linda leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and faith that will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands James "Russell" Hollingsworth, Sr. and Raymond "Jack" O. Schrum, her son James "Jimmy" R. Hollingsworth, Jr., and her brother William J. Roy, Sr.
Linda is survived by her loving children, Lisa H. Padgett (Eric), Penny Lyn Cooke, David Hollingsworth (Naomi Cook), Kristen M. Wigley (Brandon), daughter-in-law, Jennifer Hollingsworth, her sister Susan Walton (Alvin), 13 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at Baker McCullough Funeral Home Garden City Chapel on Monday, April 8th, 2024 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The funeral service will take place at Pooler First Baptist Church in Pooler, Georgia on Tuesday, April 9th, 2024 at 11:00 am followed by a burial at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Pooler First Baptist Church Children's Ministry in memory of Linda Hollingsworth Schrum.
Linda's memory will forever be cherished and her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
