Linda Joyce Covenah Anderson, 73, of Guyton, went on to be with her Lord and Savior while surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, September 10, 2016.
Joyce was born on June 23, 1943 in Savannah, Georgia, the daughter of the late Horace Leon and Lessie Williams Brown.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She was a member of Bonnybridge Baptist Church for many years where she was active in Sunday school, Choir and served on several committees. Since moving to Guyton she attended First Baptist Church of Rincon. She also worked as an Avon representative and worked at Sears.
Joyce loved spending time with her family and friends and she enjoyed sewing, shopping, cooking, scrapbooking and traveling. She was an avid ballroom dancer. Joyce received great joy from attending her grandchildren's activities and being a part of their lives.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, John Dorsey Covenah.
Joyce is survived by her husband, James "Andy' Anderson; daughters, Wanda Lynn Parrish (Wesley) of Guyton, Debbie Jean Hutson (Andy) of Rincon; son, Dorsey Leon Covenah (Abbie) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; grandchildren, Waylon Parrish (Ashley), Whitney Parrish McFarland (Kienan); nieces, Missy Hill, Leah Huie and Marie Wilkerson; nephews, Derek Covenah, Greg Edenfield, and Wesley Covenah; several great-neices, great-nephews and cousins.
Visitation: 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, September 13 at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Garden City Chapel.
Funeral Services: 1 p.m., Wednesday, September 14 at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Garden City Chapel with Reverend Jody Jordan and Pastor Gary Johnson officiating. Soloist will be Lauren Scott.
Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
