Lillie Ruth Blanton

Lillie Ruth Blanton, 89, of Rincon passed away Sunday, September 26, 2021 at Effingham Care Center.

A native of Hemingway, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence William Ard and the late Lelon Ola Powell Ard.

Lillie was a member of North Salem Baptist Church and was retired from Georgia Pacific. She enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, growing showcase flowers, and fishing.

She was preceded in death by parents, husband of 41 years, Fenton R. Blanton, grandson, Richard Keith Blanton, sisters, Willa Mae Roberson, Mary Von Ard, Miriam Ard Owens, Mildred Ard Marsh, brother, Dexter W. Ard, daughter-in-law, Elsie Blanton .

Survivors include her children, Billy Blanton of Statesboro, GA, Bobby Blanton (Linda) of Rincon, GA, Connie Garrison of Springfield, GA, Donnie Blanton (Patsy) of Savannah, GA, Sherril Wells (David) of Sylvania, GA, Ola Gay Blanton, of Clermont, FL, Donna Blanton of Savannah, GA, a sister, Linda Ard Bunch of North Charleston, SC, 8 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other family.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm at the Funeral Home with services beginning at 1:30 pm in the Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery.

Masks are encouraged and it is asked that social distancing be practiced.
