Lillian Meredith Jones,75, of Savannah, GA transitioned Sunday, August 7, 2022. Lillian was a member of the Sanctuary Church and First African Baptist Church. She had many different talents and passions that included singing, interior design, and the most coveted of them all, cooking for her family and friends. Lillian also took great pride in her presentation and enjoyed shopping and anything fashion-related. She had a feisty personality and her bark was indeed as big as her bite.
She was born in Brooklyn, New York on March 3, 1947 but spent most of her childhood in Havre De Grace, Maryland before relocating to Georgia with her husband of 53 years, Albert Jones, Jr. Prior to retiring, she spent many years working in childcare and often expressed a profound love
for nurturing and caring for children. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Jones, Jr. and her grandson, Michael Jones.
Survivors include her daughters, Demetria Davis, Tasha Jones, and Monique Jones-Eastman; son, Dewayne Jones; grandchildren, Dominic Jones, Anthony Jones, Rudolph Davis, Ciera Pritchett, Dewayne Jones, Jr., De'Angelo Jones, Trakeem Jones, Shanika Jones,Symone Carr, and Ronald Eastman, Jr. and 29 great-grandchildren also survive.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 20, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hodgson Memorial Chapel (7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive Savannah, GA 31406).
