Lewis Schley passed away at Hospice of Savannah on October 20 after struggling with health issues for several years. He was born to John and Clara Schley in Cleveland Ohio on April 27, 1932. He graduated from Strongsville High School. In his teen years, he built a small greenhouse behind his parents' home which grew into a family retail business. He was employed by Schneider's Greenhouse when he was 16 and worked there for 20 years. In 1968, he and his wife started their own greenhouse business in Congress, Ohio, outside Wooster. The wholesale and retail operation grew to be an acre under glass and about a half-acre of plastic houses. The business thrived for over 30 years before they retired to Savannah, Georgia in 2001. While is Savannah, he worked part-time as a Car Transporter for Hertz. He enjoyed growing plants and woodworking.
Lew is preceded in death by his parents, brother John, sister-in law Rose, sister Virginia Bedford, brother-in law Elton Bedford and son-in-law Mitch Glicken. He is survived by his wife of 61 years Donna (Lutz), one daughter Sandra, one grandson Matthew and a host of special nieces and nephews.

The family will receive visitors at Jardine Funeral Home, 15822 Pearl Rd. in Strongsville, Ohio on Thursday, October 25 from 6-8 p.m. Interment will be on Friday, October 26 at 2 pm Congress Cemetery, 11001 Stratton Rd. with the Reverend Christopher Cottrel of the Congress Community Church officiating.
