Lessie Voyles Anderson, 97, of Savannah passed away Wednesday, August 9, 2017, at Memorial Health University Medical Center.
She was born on January 23, 1920, in Live Oak, Florida, a daughter of the late Braxton and Emmeline (Lamb) Voyles.
Lessie was predeceased by her husband, Owen Monroe Anderson, on March 25, 2016, after more than 64 years of marriage.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Happi and Art Gallaher; her sister and brother-in-law, Agnes and Wiley Grantham; and, a host of nieces and nephews on both sides of her family.
She was a homemaker who for a number of years owned and operated The Flower House as well as a successful catering business. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and an active member of the Relief Society. She was very devout in her faith and found great joy in teaching and entertaining children and youth, and in mentoring and nurturing LDS missionaries. She deeply loved her family and friends and lavished hospitality on them all.
Visitation will be 4:00 to 6:00 PM, Sunday, August 13th, at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hubert C. Baker Chapel, 7415 Hodgson Memorial Dr., Savannah.
Funeral service will be 11:00 AM, Monday, August 14th, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Savannah Ward, 613 E. Montgomery Crossroad, Savannah.
