Latha Gay Morris, 92, of Pooler, GA passed away Friday, July 8, 2022, at her daughter’s home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on October 20, 1929, in Lyons, Georgia to the late James and Ollie Gay. She and her husband were farmers in Toombs County, Georgia before moving to Savannah in 1953, where she was a homemaker and raised her four children. She loved her family dearly and her family greatly loved and admired her. She was known for her wonderful cooking that often brought her family together to enjoy one of her meals. Latha was a woman of faith and a member of the Savannah Holy Church of God since 1977.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 67 years, Theron Cleveland Morris; daughter, Kathy Warren; grandson, Nathan Morris; great- granddaughter, Merritt Morris and 6 siblings.
She is survived by her daughter, Debra (Travis) Barlow; sons, Dennis (Gail) Morris and Gary (Janell) Morris; sister, Ruby Morgan; grandchildren, Amy (Kevin), Jason (Lori), Stephanie (Bryan), Sara, Lindsay, and Matthew (Natalie); 18 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
A Visitation will be held Thursday, July 14, 2022, from 11am to 12pm at Savannah Holy Church of God followed by the funeral service at 12pm, with Reverend Ryan Ralston officiating.
In lieu of flowers, remembrance may be made to Compassus Hospice (701 Southern Blvd, Suite 203, Savannah, GA 31405) or Savannah Holy Church of God (707 Little Neck Road, Savannah, GA 31419). We would like to thank Compassus Hospice for the excellent care they provided.
