Bloomingdale, Georgia – Larry Eugene Hendricks, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 23rd, 2025, at the age of 67. Born on Saturday, March 30th, 1957, in Savannah, Georgia, Larry's life was marked by service, dedication, and love for his family and community.
Larry dedicated four years of his life to the United States Navy, where he served with distinction and achieved the rank of Machinist Mate. Following his military service, Larry built a successful career as a Chemical Operator, working for Hercules Inc. for 24 years until his retirement. His colleagues remember him as a hard-working and reliable professional.
Larry was a man of diverse interests and passions. A true aviation enthusiast, he loved planes and anything to do with flying, and "Top Gun" was one of his all-time favorite films. He was equally passionate about gardening and fishing, activities in which he found great peace and joy. A dedicated family man, Larry was known for his story telling—a gift that kept his loved ones entertained, even if they heard the same story time and again.
An avid Star Trek fan, Larry's enthusiasm extended to the stars, embodying the spirit of exploration and adventure. At his core, Larry was a devoted family man. He is survived by his loving wife, Rose Hendricks; son, James Paul Hendricks (Eve); daughters, Rhiannon Michelle Hendricks (Robert Bauman) and Rebecca Lynn Northrop (Jeremy). His grandchildren, Ana Delaine Ammons, Christopher Gavin Hendricks (Summer), Logan James Hendricks, Aiden Chase Smith, and Aeron William Northrop; and great grandchild, Rosalee (blue eyes); were his pride and joy. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Hazel Strickland Hendricks, his sister Nancy Hendricks, his sister and brother-in-law Shirley and Boyce Dunn, and his brother, Baby Boy Hendricks.
Visitation will be held at Baker McCullough Funeral Home Garden City Chapel in Garden City, Georgia, on Friday, March 28th, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Arrangements are being handled with care and compassion by Baker McCullough Funeral Home-Garden City Chapel.
