Larry Dean Vines, age 80, of Savannah passed away Monday, July 15, 2024 at his home.
Mr. Vines was born on August 26, 1943 in Johnson City, TN, the son of the late Clifford and Louise Britt Vines. He was a graduate of East Tennessee State University where he earned a degree in biology, minoring in geology. He was a veteran of the United States Army. For most of his career Mr. Larry worked as a Pharmaceutical Representative. He was a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, the Savannah Yacht Club and the Geechee Sailing Club where he was a Past Commodore. Mr. Larry loved traveling. He never met a stranger and enjoyed sharing his stories and adventures with everyone he met. His favorite saying was, “come on let's go times a wasting!”
Mr. Vines was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Yepko Vines; son, Todd Allen Vines and brother, Jerry Vines and wife Roni. He is survived by his siblings, Terry Vines and wife Mary and Janice Stitak and husband Bob; stepdaughter, Rebecca Oleson; and many step grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
A private service was held at Greenwich Cemetery on August 9th.
