Kim Serface, born April 11th, 1964, died Saturday morning, July 9th, 2022. Kim was a devoted follower of the Lord, wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend to many. From the beginning, Kim had an unshakeable faith in God; most knew this from the second they met her. Outside of her love for the Lord was the love that she had for her family. Kim loved her husband's adventurous spirit and the moments they had together. Her children, which she frequently remarked were her legacy, mirror her robust and independent personality. If one could not find her amongst her friends and family, it would be certain that she was in her backyard, enjoying her flowers. She was quick-witted, courageous, fearless, a woman of strength and character, and a joy to be around. Kim valued her close friends; she was loyal, meaning if you were blessed to have her as a friend, you were a friend for life. Kim was artistically talented and had the innate ability to successfully make ideas a reality. Friends and family would often seek her advice. Born in Savannah, Kim had traveled the world before returning to start her own business. She achieved a bachelor's degree of fine arts in graphic design at the Savannah College of Art and Design. She was generous to her community, receiving the Molly Pitcher award from the United States Field Artillery Association, as well as donating her time and talent to the 1st Ranger Battalion Memorial.
Kim leaves behind her husband of twenty-nine years, David, and their three children, Megan, Erin, and Benjamin: parents, James and Mary Faith Beckworth, sister Jill Beckworth, and niece Kristen. For those of us fortunate to be blessed with her life touching ours, she left us with a precious pearl of wisdom, and a resource for life, the love of God.
A public funeral service will be held at Baker-McCullough Funeral Home, Hodgson Memorial Chapel, on Wednesday, July 13th, 2022, at 12:00 pm, with visitation at 11:00 am and a private family graveside service to follow.
Please make any donations to Weill Cornell Medicine for Dr. Pashtoon Kasi's cancer research.
