Kathryn V. Carey, 65, passed away on January 9, 2021, in Savannah, Georgia.
Private family memorial services will be held at 2:00, Monday, January 18, 2021, at Magnolia Memorial Gardens, officiating with Marque Harden.
Kathryn V. Carey was born in Savannah, Georgia, to Freeman and Molly Riley on July 2, 1955. She attended Herschel V. Jenkins High School and graduated in 1973. In the following year, she married Gary L. Carey on August 27, 1974. For many years, she worked at Coastal Georgia Comprehensive Academy before retiring in 2016.
Kathryn V. Carey is preceded in death by her father, Freeman Louis Riley; mother, Molly Harvey Riley; and brother, Samuel Louis Riley.
Kathryn V. Carey is survived by her husband, Gary L. Carey; children, LaVonda N. Carey, Janeen L. Carey (Nigel Jeffers), Jason V. Carey (Cheryl Carey), Gavin L. Carey (Adrian Carey), and Clinton A. Carey; brothers and sister, Freeman 'Sonny' Louis Mack, Rufus Mack, and Louise Riley Holmes; grandchildren, Cynthia Carey, Chloe Carey, Elijah Carey, Bokaya Jeffers, Nigiah Carey-Jeffers, Amaya Zerquera, and Alana Zerquera; and a host of sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, and other family and friends.
