Katherine Alice "Katy" Cafiero

Katherine Alice “Katy” Cafiero, 68, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2022 at Azalealand Nursing Home.

Katy was born March 26, 1954 to Mary Price Cafiero and Joseph S. “Sunny” Cafiero, Jr. She was predeceased by her parents. She is survived by her siblings, Ginny Pavey (Terry) of Douglasville GA, Adele Collins (Steve) of Savannah GA, Joseph S. Cafiero III (Nannette) of Charleston SC, Sarah Ingman (Ravenel) of Lithia Springs GA, and Marian Teuton (Don) of Savannah GA. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends, particularly Jeanne Zittrauer and Richard Bradham, both of Savannah GA.

Katy was employed by CCDS (later called Employability) for many years until her health necessitated her retirement. The family would like to thank everyone at Azalealand Nursing Home for their kind and compassionate care of Katy in her last months. They would also like to thank Pam Simmons and the extended family who cared for Katy so well for so many years at Tanglewood Personal Care Home. Katy was a lifelong Catholic and attended Blessed Sacrament Church.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, December 9, 2022 at Blessed Sacrament Church at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Burial in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
