KAREN LYNNE (KELLY) GRAHAM Oct 12, 1957—Dec 14, 2021.
Karen was a Christian who loved our Lord God and was always reading and studying her Bibles. She is following her father Horace B Kelly in death after developing the disease PSP and contracting COVID-19, which advanced her illness.
Karen is survived by her mother, Barbara A (Fox, Buckner) Kelly, two sisters, Elizabeth A Kelly and Nora K Durham (Richard), brother, Clayton T Kelly (Michele). She has two sons, Matthew T Graham (Heather), USN and Daniel J Graham (Shantel), two grandsons and three step grandchildren.
Karen lived her life as a Nurse/Care Giver, she loved taking care of people. She was born in Dallas TX and lived in Oakland and San Jose CA and Columbia SC where she started her nursing career as a candy striper at Providence Hospital under the tutelage of her grandmother Catherine L (Fox) Bazen, LPN. Her parents then moved to Savannah GA where Karen graduated Sol C Johnson HS, 1976. She continued part of her nursing education at the GA Baptist Hospital School of Nursing in Atlanta for one year and moved back to Savannah to attend Armstrong State College where she received her LPN degree. Karen worked at both Memorial and Candler Hospitals.
Karen and James Graham were married, Dec 1988-Jun 2021. Karen was dedicated to her whole family but couldn’t be split in two so she moved to Avinger/Jefferson TX where she took care of her mother and sister, Sissy and worked at the Linden Hospital and worked in Home Health Care. When her illness got so severe she returned to Savannah.
Karen was a pianist for several of the Churches she attended throughout her life and also played the guitar. She loved all music and her country. Karen loved to watch the change of seasons and all the birds that would fly and feed around where she might be. The Cardinal was one of her favorites. She was loved and will be missed by many people across the US.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held Sunday, December 19, 2021 at the Baker McCullough Funeral Home Garden City Chapel from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m..
