Judy Readdick Saturday, 79, of Savannah, died on August 28, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Savannah on March 2, 1945.
She was predeceased by her husband, James C. Saturday; a son, James C. Saturday, Jr.; parents, Mr. and Mrs. E.F. Readdick, Jr; and a brother, Mr. E.F. Readdick, III.
She is survived by a son, Jason E. Saturday; sisters, Carolyn Griner and Linda Stacy (Jay); and a special friend, Mary Payne. She is also survived by grandchildren, Taylor, Chance, and Catie, whom she adored; and several nieces and nephews. She loved her sister-in-love, Renee Saturday Smith (Larry) and her brother-in-law, Larry Saturday (Gail).
Judy was a graduate of Savannah High School. She married the love of her life, Jimmy Saturday, on July 20, 1963 at Epworth Methodist Church. She had a long career at the Corps of Engineers and later enjoyed working at several non-profit agencies.
Judy was a faithful member of Grace Church (formerly Grace U.M.C.). She was a member of U.M.W. and helped in the nursery.
Judy loved going to yard sales and thrift shops. She also liked going to the beach and visiting state parks. She was a good dancer and her favorite was the Shag.
Judy was admired for her friendly disposition, her kindness, and her ability to get along with others. She was especially optimistic and had a smile that would light up the room. Often she would remind others to practice gratitude. Her recent years were challenging but she faced the day with a grateful heart.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at Grace Church located at 6412 Waters Avenue.
