Judi Allen Amerson, 80, of Bloomingdale, GA, passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at Landmark Hospital in Savannah.
Judi was born July 31, 1943, in Savannah, and was a graduating member of Savannah High School’s class of 1961. After graduation, she began what was to be a 48-year career with Union Camp / International Paper, where she retired in 2009. Before retiring from “The Mill”, she began working part-time as a cashier at the Walmart in Rincon. And oh, how she loved it! She had customers that would only go through Register 1, for a smile, some candy, or a sassy remark to those she knew well enough! Her eyes and her smile lit up any place she ventured. She was a huge Braves and Bulldog fan, and was always asking, “what time does the game come on”?
Judi was preceded in death by her husband, Don Amerson, her parents, Helen Ford Davis, and Lewis F. Allen.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter Kim (Larry) Wiley, her grandson Casey (Savannah) Coker, great-grandchildren Kinleigh and Cade, her brother Frank (Faye) Allen of Augusta, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Friday, September 15, 2023, from 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm at the Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 4:00 pm in the Chapel of the Funeral Home with Pastor Tommy Duke officiating.
