SAVANNAH - Joyce Lanier Waters, 81, of Savannah and widow of James Brantley Waters, died comfortably in her home, Sunday, September 24, after a short illness.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, James Brantley Waters; grandson, James William Waters; brother, Lowell Lanier.
Joyce was born in Savannah on January 8, 1936, the daughter of the late James Arthur and Frederica Hunt Lanier. She was a graduate of Commercial High School. She was a member of Montgomery Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her three sons; Rick, Dave and Brett Waters; sister, Patricia Scott of Savannah, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Frank and Jill Saxon; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren with the loving family continuing to thrive and grow.

Visitation: 10- 11 am, Wednesday, at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hubert C. Baker Chapel, 7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah.
Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, in the Chapel of Baker McCullough Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Bonaventure Cemetery.
