Obituary for Joseph Lewis Bush who was called home to Jesus at 6:55 pm on Sunday, May 22nd following a long illness. Joe was born on May 30th,1931in Bowdon,Georgia and raised in Wetumpka, Alabama.
He was one of five sons and two daughters of Maggie and Lewis Bush. Husband for 58 years to Gisele Bush, father of daughter Lydia and sons Richard and Randy, grandfather of five grandchildren, Nicole, Gigi, Stacy, Cody and Casey and great grandfather to six great grand children.
Joe served in the United States Army and achieved the rank of Sergeant First Class over his 23 years of dedicated service, including one tour in Korea and two tours of duty in Vietnam. Following his military career, Joe served as a City Building Inspector at Radcliff, Kentucky, and both Savannah and Hinesville, Georgia.
Sergeant Bush was an avid hunter and fisherman that loved the outdoors and being on the water, as well as, a devoted family man who passed away with his loving family by his side.
