Joseph Martin Austin "Joey", 57, passed away Monday, June 25, 2018 at Memorial Health University Medical Center.
A native of Savannah, Joey was the second son of the late Janet Marie Fortner and Joseph "Joe" F. Austin, Jr.
Joey was a 1979 graduate of Savannah High School and loved life and lived it to the fullest. He was a diehard Atlanta Falcons fan and also loved the Georgia Bulldogs and enjoyed playing golf.
He worked in Concrete Construction and drove a truck for many years.
Joey was preceded in death by his mother, Janet M. Austin; his grandparents, Grace and John Fortner and Thelma and Martin "Marty" Konter.
Survivors include his father, Joseph "Joe" Austin; brother and sister-in-law, Tony and Marie Austin; sister and brother-in-law, Missy and Mark Jenkins; his nieces and nephews that affectionately called him Jo Jo, Christina Austin McCullough, Jerrod Austin, Candice Jenkins, Courtney Eitel and Cameron Jenkins; great nieces and nephews, Jackson and Jillian Austin, Kinley McCullough and Levi Jenkins Trimm; other family and many many friends.
The family will gather at the Funeral Home for Visitation, Thursday, June 28, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. followed by Funeral Service beginning at 1:00 p.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kenny Harrelson officiating.
Burial: Bonaventure Cemetery.
