Joseph Elton Chapman, Jr., 60, of Savannah, Georgia passed away February 1, 2021 at Hospice Savannah.
He was born to the late Joseph Elton Chapman, Sr. and Dorothy Harrison Chapman on March 13, 1960 in Brunswick, Georgia.
In September of 1980, Joseph moved to Savannah and began a 40 year career as an Information Technologies Analyst with Chatham Steel Corporation. He married the love of his life, Nancy Lynch, on May 16, 1984 in Kingsland, Georgia. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, where he served as cameraman for many years.
Joseph was a laid back kind of guy that liked to keep things low key. He enjoyed the simple things in life like fireplaces, watching the waves crash on the shore of the beach, and taking moonlit walks down the beach with his bride. His happy places were Jekyll Island and Disney World.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Nancy Lynch Chapman of Savannah; daughter and son in law, Hannah and Christian Parker of Savannah; brother and sister in law, Kirk and Stacy Chapman of Mississippi; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be Saturday February 6, from 10-11am at Crossroads Baptist Church, 8510 Middleground Road, with a memorial service to follow at 11am. Rev. Lane Sanders will be officiating.
In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the Technology Fund or the Children's Playground Fund of Immanuel Baptist Church 7375 Hodgson Memorial Drive Savannah, Georgia 31406.
