Jonathan Jerald Connan died on June 28 in Savannah, Georgia at the age of 50 after a short illness. He is survived by his father Jere and stepmother Conni, his mother, Sharon Kays Broughton (Robert), Carlsbad, California and sister Amanda Connan (Kessa), Melbourne, Florida.
Jon was born September 18, 1970 in Bloomington, Indiana. He and his sister spent their younger years in California before moving to Savannah. Jon attended Savannah Christian Preparatory School, graduating in 1988 and then attended the University of Georgia graduating with degrees in Photography and Art History. He moved to Los Angeles where he established his own business in the then new field of digital photography. There he was active in teaching photographers on the use of digital photography, providing on-site assistance for movie advertisements such as the Hobbit in New Zealand and participating in a collaboration resulting in a cover for Time magazine. He returned to Savannah in 2010 where he provided Web Design and maintenance services for clients around the country.
Jon's friends were many and are scattered around the world; he loved nothing more than a happy chat over coffee or on the phone. A memorial service will be held at White Bluff Presbyterian Church, 1 PM, Thursday, July 1.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Humane Society for Greater Savannah, 7215 Sallie Mood Drive, Savannah, GA 31405.
