John W. Scott, 83, formerly of Savannah, passed away on Monday June 4 in Atlanta.
Mr. Scott was a graduate of Savannah State College and served in the U.S. Army during World War II and retired after 37 years with the United States Postal Service. He was of the Baptist faith.
John was preceded in death by his parents Essie Robinson & David Scott; 2 brothers, David J. Scott & Henry Scott: 3 sisters, Dorothy Rivers, Ola Belle Cobb, and Elizabeth Hall. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Bernitha W. Scott; a daughter, G. Christian: a grandson, L. Christian II and a great-granddaughter, D. Christian; many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held in the Chapel of Bonaventure Funeral Home on Saturday June 9 at 11:00 AM with visitation one hour before the service. Entombment to follow in Hillcrest Abbey East on Wheaton Street.
