John William Sweat Jr., age 74, passed away Saturday, March 26, 2022 unexpectedly.
John answered to many different names. The ones that loved him, called him, J.W., Daddy, Popple Johnny, and Papa. John was born in Waycross, Georgia to the parents of John William Sweat Sr., and Mary Patterson Sweat. In 1982, Dianne Sweatte caught his eye. Over a decade later, they made it official and tied the knot. John worked for Hutson Plumbing as a plumber for over 40 years before retiring. He was an avid Atlanta Falcons and Atlanta Braves fan. He was very proud of his Falcons jacket and wore it with pride. He was also a walking trivia book when it came to boxing, another sport he thoroughly enjoyed. When his teams weren't playing, you could find John eating peanuts and crabbing. However, his haven was on his homestead tending to his garden. He sure knew how to grow some tomatoes and cucumbers. JW was a simple man who loved the Lord and loved giving to others.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John William Sweat Sr., and Mary Patterson Sweat; his loving wife, Dianne Sweatte Sweat; and his brother, Edward Sweat.
He is survived by his three children, Tammy (Gary aka Hacksaw) Nobles of Statesboro, Christy (Travis) Cole of Savannah, Brita (Ryan) Dickerson of Parkville, Missouri; his grandchildren, Crisleigh (Robert) Fountain of Brooklet, Brittni (Patrick) Faircloth of Guyton, Ty (Kat) Nobles of Ellabell, Jacob Dickerson of Parkville, Missouri, Thomas Dickerson of Parkville, Missouri, Catherine Dickerson of Parkville, Missouri; and his great grandchildren, Avery Fountain, Emerson Faircloth, and one very special little one on the way.
