John Pierce Bearden, 74, of Bloomingdale, died Wednesday, June 21st, 2017 at St. Joseph's Hospital.
A native of Alamo, Georgia, he was a retired Truck Driver with Chatham County Public Works Department and a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. He was a wonderful truck driver, heavy equipment operator and was one of the first men to operate the swamp buggy in Savannah. "Papa John" was wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. A very special person.
He was preceded in death by by his parents and several brothers and sisters..
Survivors include his wife of 17 years, Marion Jackie Sapp Bearden of Bloomingdale, his son, John E. Bearden (Vonda) of Rincon, his daughter, Donna Patrick of Catersville, his grandchildren, Helen and Melissa Bearden and several more grandchildren and great grandchildren, one great grandchild, Liam Edward Brown, several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
The family will receive friends Friday, June 23rd, 2017 from 6 pm to 8 pm at Baker McCullough Funeral Home - Garden City Chapel. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, June 24th, 2017 at 1 pm in the Baker McCullough Funeral Home - Garden City Chapel, with burial to follow at Westside Memorial Gardens in Bloomingdale.
