John Edward Mock Iii

John Edward Mock III, 69, of Garden City passed away Thursday, November 16, 2023 at Memorial Health University Medical Center.
John was born in Savannah and was raised in Garden City. He was the son of the late John Edward Mock Jr and Joyce Earline Stewart Mock.
He attended First Baptist Church Garden City where he grew up and as a boy active in sports with the Garden City Rec. Department. As a teen he was the drummer of the band Paper Snake which played many places thorough out Savannah and Tybee Island. In his later years he enjoyed being an extra in movies. You can see him as an extra in the movie The Conspirator directed by Robert Redford. He worked for Metal Building Maintenance.
Survivors include his mother, Joyce E. Mock, daughter and son in law, Amy and Corbett Gilliam, son, Dustin Mock, sister, Cindy Sands, brother, David Anthony Mock Sr, 6 grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at First Baptist Church Garden City.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made directly to the funeral home due to no graveside service. Donations can be made by calling the office or coming into the funeral home.
