John Harold "Johnny" Lammons, age 80, of Savannah passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2024 after a short illness. He was surrounded by his family.
Johnny was born on November 5, 1944 in Jacksonville, FL. He was a graduate of Technical High School in Jacksonville, FL. After graduating he served four years with the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. Following his military tenure Johnny began his career with ADT which brought him to Savannah in 1980. He retired from ADT after 42 years of service as an Operations Manager. In his retirement years he worked with Barry’s Muffler & Brake Center in Savannah. He was a longtime member of Southside Baptist Church. Johnny enjoyed fishing, Georgia football and NASCAR racing, but most of all he loved spending time with his family.
Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Mary Owens. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Lou Lammons; daughter, Melissa Schambach (David); sons, John Lammons, Jr. (Amy) and Wesley Lammons (Ashley); brother, Johnny Lammons; he is also survived by his grandchildren who lovingly called him “Poppy”, Katherine, Abigail, Olivia, and Emily Wardlaw, Seth Lammons, as well as Wesley Jr. and Wyatt Lammons.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
