John Gary Jones

John Gary Jones was born in Washington DC on October 20 1961 and passed February 21st, 2024 at 62 years old.

John joined the US Army at the age of 19. He was a Sapper/combat engineer. He served in the Army for 22 years and retired as a Master Sergeant. During his career he traveled and was stationed in many places around the world but retired and stayed in Savannah GA. John then worked for TSA as a TSA supervisor until he retired. Afterwards John worked for Werner Trucking.

John married Ae Yong Jones on July 4th, 1984, and they faithfully shared their life together for 39 years.

John loved spending time with his family, serving the Lord, serving his country, serving his community, spreading happiness and loved good food.

He is survived by his wife, Ae Yong Jones; his children, David (Cayla) Jones, Christopher Jones, and Rebecca Jones; his grandchildren, Lincoln and Madelyn; his Mother, Rita Jones; siblings, Harry (Mary) Jones Jr. , Susan Jones , Donald (Cathy) Jones, Steven Jones, Teresa Singh, and Anna Thomas; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harry Jones Sr.; and brothers, Edward Jones and Michael Jones.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 8, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Pooler (1115 US Hwy 80 Pooler, GA 31322).
