John "Johnny" Garlin Johnson

January 18, 1944 — June 6, 2022

John "Johnny" Johnson, age 78, passed away Monday, June 6, 2022 at St. Joseph/Candler Hospital in Savannah.

Mr. Johnson was born January 18, 1944 in Savannah to the late James Johnson and the late Annie Gantt Johnson. He worked as a seaman with Colonial Oil before getting into construction work. Prior to retiring, he was a carpenter working with Balfour Beatty. Mr. Johnson was a member of Teamsters Local Union #728 and was a member of Savannah Christian Church.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Sikes.

Survivors include his wife, Miriam Perkins Johnson; daughters, Billie Anne Johnson and Deborah "Sissy" Johnson; granddaughter, Annabel Faith Johnson; and his life long best friend, Daniel (Theresa) Perkins.

Visitation will be Saturday, June 11, 2022 from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. at Baker McCullough Funeral Home - Hubert C. Baker Chapel.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 11, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Baker McCullough Funeral Home - Hubert C. Baker Chapel with Rev. Deward Poole officiating.
