John Douglas Ward, 66, of Bloomingdale, GA formerly of Wilmington, OH passed away at home on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 after a long illness.
The greatest love and passion in his life were his daughters, grandchildren and family. John is survived by three daughters, Angela Ward ofFruitland Park, Florida, Krystin (Mike) Ward of Fort Pierce, FL and Misty (Meak) Ward of Port Saint Lucie, FL, three grandchildren, Kyla, Gauge & Mj, two brothers, Ron (Karen) Goery of Elko, NV, Donald (Mickey) Ward Jr. of Burkburnett, TX, two sisters Kim (Dennis) Morris of Bloomingdale, GA and Kelly Martin of Hillsboro, OH as well as many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly, Don (Amy), Saige, Karis, Teagan, Emma, April (Fred), Jordan, Emilie, Dylan, Ian, Jennie (Shane), Lilly, Vinnie, Keegan, Christopher, Cheyenne (Jake) & Liliana.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Donald Ward of Wilmington, OH and Boneeta Bloom of Hillsboro, OH and brother, Allen Ward of Wilmington, OH.
He had many friends but locally Mac & Brenda McKirgan and from his childhood and growing up in Wilmington, OH were BK (Kim) Koons, Jimmy Carpenter and Gary Depew.
John was a veteran having served in the US Marine Corps and he was a long-time employee of Lakeside Water Company after many years of doing sheetrock work in Florida. He loved fishing, dirt track racing at Oglethorpe Speedway Park and was a huge Nascar fan with Kyle Larson as his favorite driver. John was a part of the family dirt track teams over the years with drivers, Dennis Morris, Ricky Brant, Bobby Morris Jr., Kim Morris and April Morris.
John had chosen cremation after which his daughters will take his ashes back to southern Florida and out to sea for one final "fishing trip."
