Johnnie Pat Cornelius, 87, 0f Savannah, GA passed away Tuesday June 28, 2022 at his home.
Johnnie was a longtime member of Chevis Oaks Baptist Church. He was an avid outdoorsmen that loved fishing and hunting. He was an active father who loved his family, having spent many days playing sports with his daughter and showing his chickens to his grandchild and great-grand. Johnnie was a veteran of the United States Air Force and loved all his animals, including his chickens. He was an Industrial Mechanic and was a provider to his family. One of his last words spoken was that he didn't want to leave his wife, Jackie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Burnie Cornelius; and other family.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Jackie Cornelius; daughter, Elizabeth J. Milligan (Bud); granddaughter, Tiffany Hopek (Nicholas); and great-grandchildren, Sophia and Liam.
A Visitation will be held Saturday July 2, 2022 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Baker McCullough Funeral Home- Garden City Chapel.
A Graveside Service will be held Saturday July 2, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery with Rev. Kyle Waddell officiating and Military Honors.
In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to the American Cancer Society- Pancreatic Cancer on cancer.org/donate.
