Johnny “The Brickman” Barnes made his transition to his heavenly home early Wednesday Morning to join his beloved wife, Eunice Mongin Barnes, of 71 years.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Connie S. Burson and a grandson, Keith Edward Barnes. He was also preceded in death by his parents, a brother, and 5 sisters.
Johnny was a World War II Veteran, serving in the Philippines and Japan. He was a brick mason by trade and since 1956 helped build homes in some of Savannah's finest areas. He was well respected for his outstanding quality of workmanship.
He was a member of the Savannah Holy Church of God for over 65 years where he served in many capacities. He could be counted on whenever work days were called and faithfully attended church services with 27 years of perfect attendance in Sunday School. He was a faithful and committed servant of God.
Survivors are 2 sons, Eddie (Mary Delaine), Ronald (Pattie), a daughter Vickie Owens (Sonny), 9 grandchildren, 16 great- grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren, special friends Gene and Sandra Odom and Johnny and Nancy Sikes, and a host of other friends and family. He loved his family greatly.

A Visitation will be held Sunday October 31, 2021 from 3pm to 6pm at Baker McCullough Funeral Home- Hubert C. Baker Chapel.
A Funeral Service will be held Monday November 1, 2021 at 11 am at Savannah Holy Church of God with Doctor Ryan Ralston and Rev. Paul Mongin officiating.
Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens with Doctor Sean Burson officiating.
