Joanne Dewberry Mackey, 83, of Savannah, Georgia, died peacefully and went to be with her Lord and Savior, on Monday, August 20, 2018

Born in Savannah, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Clay Parker Dewberry and Alice Robey Dewberry.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, James Wiley Dewberry Sr.

Joanne graduated from Savannah High School and Armstrong State College. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and good friend to many.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Savannah and later First Baptist Church of Atlanta. She enjoyed a successful sales career for many years with Field Enterprises/ World Book. She continued her sales career with Mast Advertising and Publishing until her retirement.

Surviving are three children: Marilyn Swift and her husband Tim Halkola of Michigan, Melanie and her husband Jerry Guy of Georgia, and Mark Mackey of South Carolina; three grandchildren: Jessica Saari and her husband Dan Ogden of South Carolina; Brianna and her husband Dan Ross of Tennessee, and James Saari of South Carolina; and five great-grandchildren: Grace Saari, Jackson Ogden, Ella Ross, Josephine Ross, Vivian Ross; and former husband and longtime friend, D. Carlton Mackey.

The family will receive friends Saturday August 25, 2018 from 9:30 am to 11:30 am.

The Graveside service will be Saturday August 25, 2018 at 12:15 pm at Hillcrest Abbey East Cemetery.
