Jefferson (Jeff) Moultrie made his transition from labor to reward on Wednesday, May 3, 2017.He was born in Walterboro, South Carolina on March 8, 1932 to Oliver and Edna Simmons, both preceded him in death. He was united in holy matrimony to Lula M. Danford on December 12, 1957. The union was blessed with two children Olivia and Kevin Moultrie.

He was preceded in death by Kevin on July 27, 2005 and Lula on April 10, 2010. He was also preceded in death by one brother and sister Dave Lester and Shirley Prescott.

Jeff leaves to cherish his memory his loving Daughter Olivia Moultrie of Savannah, Granddaughter Danielle T. Lewis-Gunn (Akimza) of Stockbridge, Ga., Grandson Kevin Moultrie (Kacie) of Dallas, GA. Five Great-Grandchildren Taylor and Arielle (Stockbridge, GA), D'andria, Dominic, and Damien (Dallas, GA.) Two Brothers Eugene (Lynette) Lester, and Mitchell Lester of Savannah, GA. One Sister Theresa Johnson of Savannah. A special Cousin Mattie (Major) Dickerson (Bronx, NY.) A special Niece Pollyanna Memminger (Augusta, GA.) and three special friends Charles Casey (Savannah, GA.), Brenda Walker (Savannah, GA.), and Rose Bees from the Savannah Adult Daycare Center and several other family members and friends.

Our father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend will be remembered for his years of hard work and sacrifice as a man who loved the Lord and his family greatly. In addition to being an excellent provider, he will be remembered for his contagious laugh, smile, loving spirit, and his giving heart. As a proud member of the Free Mason Fraternity he applied the principles of his membership to his everyday life through love, lending a helping hand to those who needed it, and ensuring he upheld his responsibility to citizenship in the community through his environmental efforts of finding value in many things that others may have deemed as valueless. Our sweet Jeff loved life and his sweet cakes and pastries, but most of all he loved those who he shared his life journey with. He will be greatly missed, but we will find comfort in knowing that we will be together again.
