Janet Carlet Giddens, age 45, died Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at Hospice House surrounded by her loving family members.
Janet was born March 14, 1965, in Nashville, TN, to the late Jim Simmons and Jo Ann Hightower Simmons. She graduated from Father Ryan High School and also attended Belmont College both in Nashville TN. Janet was a Data Anaylist for Gulfstream for the past five years and was an active member of the Jehovah's Witnesses, and has been a resident of Savannah for the past 20 years. Janet married Travis Giddens on August 9, 1986 in Nashville, TN and the couple celebrated their 24th wedding anniversary this past month.
Survivors include her husband, Travis Giddens , daughter, Jillian Danyell Giddens-Bhagrat, son, Caleb Darnell Giddens and granddaughter, Nyema Danyell Bhagrat all of Savannah, two sisters, Zora simmons Bates and Lacie Simmons both of Nashville, TN, and three brothers, Jim Carl Simmons, Jr., Nashville, TN, James H. Simmons of Atlanta, GA, and Jeffrey Calvin Simmons of Nashville, TN.
The family will be receiving friends on Friday evening, September 10, 2010 from 7-9 PM at Bonaventure Funeral Home. Memorial Services will be held at 1:30 PM, Saturday, September 11, 2010 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses located at 1046 Mohawk Street, Savannah, Ga. 31419.
