James Thurman Reeves passed away April 20, 2019 at Coffee Regional Medical Center.
He was born to the late Janice Louise Anderson Reeves and Thurman Leverette Reeves in Thomaston, GA. He moved to Savannah at the age of 11 with his family.
He served in the United States Army for a short time as a Mechanic before returning to civilian life, and later served the Department of Defense as a firefighter with the 165th Airlift Wing.
His passion for helping others led to a career as an Emergency Medical Technician. In that capacity, he worked with numerous ambulance services including Medstar, Coastal, Liberty and Central EMS. He also volunteered as a fire fighter with Southside Fire Department.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife, Caryn Denise Carter Reeves; a son, Edward Duane Reeves (Jessica); two daughters, Deborah Christina Freeman (Jerry) and Carol Louise Doepp (Corey); a sister, Debra Cole; and six grandchildren, Halie, Jason, Christopher, Joseph, Emilee, and Makayla.
A memorial service will be held Friday April 26, at 11am at Baker McCullough Funeral Home Hubert C. Baker Chapel.
