Obituary
James “Jim” Russel Morris, 69, of Savannah, Georgia died Saturday,
December 28th ,2019 at St. Joseph’s Hospital after bravely battling Cancer and other health issues for
many years.
He was born in Pancoastburg, Ohio. Jim and family moved to Savannah, Georgia in
1985 and Jim lived there until his departure to Heaven. Jim proudly served his Country
in the U.S. Navy from 1969 to 1974. Jim was also retired from A&W Ventures. Jim was
a member of the Church At Godley Station.
Jim enjoyed playing Cards, watching NASCAR and when he was able, he loved to hunt
and hang out at the Highland Woods Shelter Pavilion with his Friends and Family.
Survivors include his Wife of 42 years, Carol Morris, his Children; David Morrow
(Wendy), Kristina Morris Coleman (Tom), and Jacqueline Morris; his Brothers, Roger
Morris (Sue), Richard "Dick" Morris (Jean), Dennis Morris (Kim), Frances Morris
(Susan), Eddie Morris (Rhonda); 3 grandchildren – Austin, Nate and Nadia; many nieces,
nephews, cousins, family and friends.
Jim was preceded in death by his father Omar, his mother Ruby and his sister, Patricia
Williams and his brothers; Donald and Lavern Morris and also his Uncle Milo.
Visitation: 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 2nd, 2020. Chapel service will be
Friday, January 3rd, 2020 at 2 p.m. Baker McCullough Funeral Home - 2794 US-80, Garden City, GA 31408.
There will be a Graveside service immediately following at Oak Hill Cemetery @ 186
1st. St. Meldrim, GA 31318 – Weather permitting.
