James Michael "Mikey" Leggett, Jr., age 16 died Thursday May 12, 2011 at Egleston Children's Hospital in Atlanta.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at Bonaventure Funeral Home with Reverend Clarence Jackson officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens with Todd Braddley, Oscar Pinada, Keith Lee, William Screen, Danny Winn, and Ray Screen serving as pallbearers.
Mikey was born February 14, 1995 in Savannah to James M. Leggett, Sr. and Kathy Dawn Smith, both of Savannah. He was a student at Islands High School. Mikey was a huge Jeff Gordon, NASCAR fan. He was preceded in death by his Paternal Grandfather, John Lee Leggett and Maternal Grandmother, Patsy "Turtle" Smith.
Survivors in addition to his parents include a sister, Jackee Leggett of Savannah; a half brother, Jason Bonin of Falkville; Paternal Grandmother, Helen Leggett; Maternal Grandfather, Donnie Smith both of Savannah and several aunts, cousins, and a host of friends.
The family will be receiving friends on Monday evening, May 16, 2011 from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Bonaventure Funeral Home. Please visit our Tribute Wall and share your thoughts and photos with the James Michael "Mikey" Leggett, Jr. family.
