James (Mac) Walter McMillan, 80, of Savannah was called home by the Lord on Monday, March 31, 2025.
Mac was born on February 13, 1945 in Knoxville, Tennessee to the late Roy Monroe McMillan and the late Cletia McGill McMillan. He was a retired Master Sergeant from the United States Army. Following his time in service, he also retired from being an inspector at Gulfstream. He worked several years for Skidaway Island State Park and Richmond Hill WMA Shooting Range. He loved to attend church and learn the word of God. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He also enjoyed being outdoors, shooting at the range, and out on the water skiing, knee boarding and pulling his children and grandchildren on the tube. He loved to work on cars, especially Ford Mustangs. You could often find him with at least one dog snuggled in his lap for an afternoon nap. He was known for always lending a helping hand, offering words of advice, and his quick sense of humor.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Theresa McMillan, his brothers Johnny and Frank, and his sisters Alice, Betty, and Selita.
He is survived by his wife Pamela Church McMillan, his children, James(Gretchen) McMillan Jr., Rebecca McMillan, Crystal McMillan, and Jamie (Brian) Waterlander and his brother Charles McMillan. He also leaves behind 10 beautiful grandchildren; Raven, Kylie, Jessie, Peyton, Mickel, James, Gabriel, Olivia, Marshall, and Celita.
The family invites all of Mac’s family and friends to come and celebrate his life with them at Baker McCullough at Hodgson Memorial Chapel for a viewing on Friday April 4, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. followed by service at 11:00 a.m.
Interment will follow in Hillcrest Abbey West.
