James Mark Sanders

James Mark Sanders, 61, of Meldrim, Georgia took his heavenly flight Wednesday November 10, 2021.

Mark was born and attended school in Albany, NY. Mark had a successful career with Gulf Stream Aerospace and due to failing health from colon/liver cancer recently retired.

He was a Veteran and served in the Navy and Air Force Reserve. Mark loved to collect junk and recycle metal. His special interest in metal resulted in a years long collection of toys, cars, trucks, fire engines, trains and lunch boxes. He loved music and was a talented drummer and trombonist.

Mark met and married the love of his life, his soul mate Sarah Carter-Sanders, who survives. He was immediately loved and accepted into the extended Carter family; William Carter, Toni Lynn Carter Hammesfahr, special grandchildren Joselyn Marin, Colten Hammesfahr and Logan Hammesfahr. Also left to cherish his sweet soul is his sister Martha Stewart and her husband Steve of New York.

Memorial Services will be held 2:00 pm on Wednesday November 17, 2021 at Baker McCullough Funeral Home Garden City Chapel. Remembrances may be sent to Hospice Savannah, Inc. 1352 Eisenhower Dr. Savannah, Georgia 31406.
