James Edward Leach, Sr. passed away July 2, 2019 at Candler Hospital at the age of 70.
He was born January 20, 1949 to the late Robert Walker & Florie Simpson Leach. He was a student of Savannah Chatham County Schools. He worked as a Nurse at Georgia Regional Hospital, a Radio D.J at WEAS FM (E93), and lastly a Substance Abuse Counselor for Tidelands Rehabilitation/Gateway.
He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, and a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, the best grandfather & friend.
He leaves behind his loving wife Elizabeth Leach (Brown); loving sons, Gregory R. Brown (Karen), Adrian Smith, James Leach, Jr. (Monique) & Norman V. Leach; loving daughters, Gail T. Mitchell (preceded by Renita), Lakesha Leach-Cooper (Isaac), Tanisha Leach-Lawton (Lucious), Tonya Leach-Pollock (Maurice), & Kimberly Leach-DeVoe (Lamar) all of Savannah; three siblings from Savannah, Mattie L. Frazier, Lawrence Leach, Sr. (preceded by Becky), the late Henry Leach (Elizabeth), & Robert Leach (LaVerne) from California; three brothers-in-law, Hura Lee Bell (Vidalia), Hubert Brown (Savannah) & A.C. Davis (Vidalia); mothers-in-law, the late Iona Bell, & Katie M. Green (Savannah); 28 beloved grandkids, 10 great-grandkids and a host of nieces, nephews & other truly loved relatives.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 13. 2019 at the Funeral Home Chapel.
