James “Jamie” W. Pruitt, 55, of Bloomingdale Georgia passed away Saturday, August 15, 2020 from a heart attack.
A native of Greensboro, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Floyd Allen Pruitt, Sr. and Carolyn Gravley Pruitt.
Jamie came to Savannah 4 years ago to help his brother (Allen) open an Auto Mechanic Shop. Jamie never met a stranger, he made so many friends here. Jamie was the kind of man who would give you the shirt off his back in the middle of winter and swear he was warm enough without it. He was so HAPPY to be here working and of course doing what he loved best “FISHING”. He and Allen went fishing on average 4 days/nights a week and they loved every minute of it. Jamie was loved by all and we will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Survivors include his children, Ashley Pruitt of Austin, TX, MaryAlice Pruitt and James Pruitt both of Madison, NC, his mother, Carolyn Pruitt, siblings, Elaine Fritze (Bart), Floyd “Allen” Pruitt, Jr. (Sonya), Theresa Steffeney, other family and many friends.
A Gathering will be held from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Saturday, August 22, 2020 at the Funeral Home. Masks are required and it is asked that social distancing be practiced in accordance to CDC guidelines.
